Eylem Yanardağoğlu is an associate professor and the chair of the Department of New Media at Kadir Has University. She graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Communication and completed her MSc degree at the Department of Sociology at Middle East Technical University. She also completed the program MA International Journalism at City, University of London. She received her PhD at City, University of London Sociology department. Since she joined Kadir Has University New Media Department in 2013, she has taught courses such as Introduction to New Media, New Media Theories, Social Media, Digital Communities at various undergraduate and post-graduate levels. Having published extensively on the state of Turkish media, her research interests include digital citizenship, digital literacy transnational news network and transnational expansion of Turkish TV series. Most recently, Eylem Yanardağoğlu joined the Turkey Program of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in Athens as a non-resident research fellow.
